SITUATION:
PARADISE CITY is the first Korean style resort complex in Northeast Asia combining multi-purpose hospitality and entertainment facilities such as a hotel, casino, convention, shopping, art gallery, spa, club, carnival and performance. It is the 1st luxury Casino Hotel near Inchon Airport.
SOLUTION:
As the designer concerned the quality of every material, ARDEX X77 and ARDEX WA were nominated during the planning stage. Tile and Natural Stone were applied in more than 600 guest rooms and public areas.
ARDEX X26 has good performance on ant-sagging for large format tile.
ARDEX FG8 was applied together with ARDEX X26 in 600 bathrooms in guestrooms.
ARDEX X77 and ARDEX WA were applied in two swimming pools for Visaza tile.

SITUATION:
Wynn Palace (Cotai) is an integrated resort owned and operated by Wynn Resorts in Macau, China which has thrilled guests for more than four decades. With the debut of the 28-story Wynn Palace and a construction floor area of around 450,000 square meters, the magnificent retreat brings together elements that represent the finest in upscale resort living: 1,706 supremely sumptuous rooms and suites, a casino, an 8-acre performance lake, gondolas, meeting facilities, spa and salon, and retail and dining venues.
SOLUTION:
Wynn Palace requested a quick dry, quick cure and quick set materials for patching up carpark flooring and levelling up the wall area.
Ardex Hong Kong worked together with the main contractor and provided a fast track solution:
ARDEX WPM300 water based epoxy working as a primer which can withstand rising damp and enhance the bonding.
ArdurapidTM formulation in both ARDEX A45 and ARDEX A46 allowing fast-track installation work.
ARDEX B12 providing a find smooth finish over both concrete and render. Thickness from feather edge to over 10mm. Quick setting allows further finishing materials to be applied on top in days.

Shangri-La Group owns a number of luxury hotels and resorts throughout the world’s major cities and tourist attractions. International hospitalities and luxury facilities of Shangri-La bring unforgettable enjoyment to guests all over the world.
CHALLENGES:
As a five star hotel, Shangri-La has very high requirements on water proof job and tile installation.
Swimming pools and Spa rooms are located in a humid environment for a long time. It means both waterproofing and moisture-proofing are needed. In order to avoid potential dangers caused by humidity, it is necessary to set the coating for anticorrosion based on the structure of the pool.
For illustration, the swimming pool of Tianjin Shangri-La Hotel is located on the third floor of the building. To make sure neither rising damp nor leak would occur in the future, high quality of waterproofing on the negative side of below grade surface is necessary to adjacent floors.
Normally, pools are filled in with water for a long time. The chlorine in the water is acidic. Lime scales and mosses can easily accumulate at the bottom of pools as well as pool walls. It impacts beauty of the swimming pool under the circumstances of acid-Alkali corrosion.
SOLUTION:
Use ARDEX WPM 300 water based epoxy membrane and ARDEX WPM 006 water proofing membrane as professional solutions to waterproofing, moisture and negative hydrostatic pressure resistant damp poof.
As a tile adhesive, ARDEX X 24 has excellent tensile adhesion and water resistance. It retains high performance of bonding strength in swimming pools area when using with ARDEX E 72. And ARDEX E 72 works as an enhancer of tile adhesive which also has high performance on acid and alkali resistance. Using ARDEX X 24 with ARDEX E 72 is a reliable combination on swimming pool tile installation.
Use ARDEX EG 2 Epoxy Grout would minimize the impact of lime scales and mosses. ARDEX EG 2 contains antimicrobial protection and outstanding stain resistance. It would perform perfectly on anti-pollution in swimming pools.
SITUATION:
The tile and grout installed at the Ritz Carlton was cracking with regular construction traffic, because the sound insulation system was moving. Tim Ellison, Regional Tile & Stone Specialist for ARDEX alerted the ARDEX Southern California Team that Jeffrey Nolen with Boyken International, Owners Representative for the Ritz Carlton, was concerned about the the performance of the Ecore QTrbm Sound Insulation System and ARDEX FB 9L™ setting material. A meeting was set for Ecore and ARDEX to review the installation.
John Inouye of ARDEX reviewed the areas that were compromised and determined the problem was being caused by an uneven concrete substrate. Jeff Mason, ARDEX Western Regional Manager suggested John visit the project with enough ARDEX TL 1000™ to perform a one room demo.
SOLUTION:
John Inouye visited the site with Doug Spenser of Quality Concrete, an ARDEX LevelMaster Elite Installer™ to assist with the ARDEX TL 1000 installation. Jeffrey Nolen was very impressed with the results, and inquired about an ARDEX warranty. ARDEX provided a 10 year warranty for the ARDEX TL1000 with the installation performed by Quality Concrete. Also extended to the Ritz Carlton, was an ARDEX Tile & Stone Installation 10 Year Extended Warranty for ARDEX FB 9L ShearFlex™ Thin Set used with ARDEX Flex Sanded™ Grouts and ARDEX Flex™ Caulk.
Nearly 3,500 bags of ARDEX TL 1000 Self-Leveling Underlayment were poured to ensure a smooth, flat, level surface to receive the sound insulation system and setting materials. The project was set with almost 3,100 bags of ARDEX FB 9L. More than 275 bags of ARDEX Flex Sanded Grout provided a smooth, beautiful finish with ARDEX Flex Caulk (color; Antique).
The tile installer had delayed the ordering of the ARDEX FB 9L and then wanted to switch the spec to substitute a Laticrete thin set which was available more immediately. Jeffrey Nolen would not allow the spec switch, citing swift customer service, strong warranties, and the quality and performance of ARDEX products.
In addition, Garvis Yearack, ARDEX Sales Professional worked with Mineger Contracting on the same project and obtained a contract for 135 units on the ground floor using 800 bags of ARDEX K-15™ Self-Leveling Underlayment. Strong customer service and technical expertise resulted in a successful installation with beautiful results.

SITUATION:
The Old Synagogue in Essen is considered one of the most architecturally important free standing synagogue buildings in Europe from the 20th Century. When time came to refurbish the building the architect wanted to increase the interior quality of the building, give it a more spacious design and ensure a long lasting durable floor for the high traffic areas.

PANDOMO® FloorPlus
The architect decided to use PANDOMO® FloorPlus. PANDOMO FloorPlus offered the designer a spacious effect caused by using a flooring system with minimal joints. Installation consisted of 1,200 m2 of PANDOMO FloorPlus in discreet warm apricot colors which covered the main floors and was carried up the staircases.
PANDOMO FloorPlus is similar to PANDOMO® Floor with the exception of a special hand trowel technique and fine mineral float added to the surface to create an even stronger, more durable surface. The final result was a modern reduced design giving the floor a clean and noble look.
